PARENTS AND KIDS LOVE MISS MELISSA’S AARDVARKS!! 

Miss Melissa's Aardvarks is a unique blend of contemporary rock and roll music for kids coupled with classic teaching techniques to create an experience unlike any in children’s music before.   At Miss Melissa’s Aardvarks, children sing, dance, rock, and jam to music from Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals, a music program for parents, and their little ones, with music from Jack’s Big Music Show on Nickelodeon’s Noggin Network.

Miss Melissa has been teaching children's music for over sixteen years.  She is a full time performer and singer songwriter.  She has proudly been a member of Holiday Express for over fourteen years.  She has graced the stages with such artist as Bruce Springsteen, Rob Thomas, and Train to name a few.  She has also performed the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden for the NYC Nicks and NJ Nets.  But her passion lies in teaching and now as a new mommy of daughter Delilah Jane.  Her goal is continue spreading the connection that comes from learning with the help of music appreciation.

Mr. Rob is like no other.  He has more energy than the energizer bunny and will you leave you wondering how he did that.  He is the proud father of four, a set of triplets and one new little girl ... yes I said it triplets.  He is a full time working musician and plays many instruments which he loves to take to class to introduce the kids to.  He has been teaching for Aardvarks for more than four years and we love having him be a part of our family.  All the children love him and so do we.

Miss Bri has been compared to a fairy Princess Rock Star.  Country music singer at heart she is a professional singer songwriter and is a full time rocker with many Bands on the Jersey shore.  She has been working with Aardvarks for two years and has won the hearts of children and parents alike.  She plays guitar and yuk and  also dances her way into the kids and parents hearts.  Once you take her class you won't go back.  We love her energy and free spirit and she always gives the best to all her classes.

Come Share the Magic at KBSD

Did you ever wonder what goes on in a preschool dance class?  Everything from the “gathering activity” (Ring Around the Rosie) to the final bow have a purpose.  Preschool dance classes use true dancer terminology.

Preschool dance is just the beginning of fine and gross motor skills development.  It identifies the movement and starts the dance vocabulary for the learner.  Things like crawling and skipping are known to create neural pathways to help with learning how to read.

Preschool registration is open through the end of November.  Please call us at 732-747-9552 for details and availability information.  Our preschool programs include 3 through 6 year old boys and girls.

Within the KBSD preschool dance program, we encourage our young dancers to develop an enthusiasm for dance and a sense of independence while having fun.

The KBSD recital is scheduled for Saturday June 20th with two different shows – 10:00 am and 3:00 pm – at Monmouth Regional High School Performing Arts Center (One Norman Field Way – Tinton Falls NJ).  Doors open 30 minutes before each performance. 

Tickets are available at the Kathryn Barnett School of Dance located in the Union Square Mall at 500 Route 35 South, Red Bank / Middletown.  Tickets may also be purchase by calling 732-747-9552.

At the 2015 Groove Regional Dance Competition in Manahawkin NJ, Kathryn Barnett School of Dance received the prestigious “Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions Excellence Award”.  This award is given to one individual dance studio that best exemplifies professionalism, advancement in the arts, dedication, teamwork, and well-rounded dancers.  Come and see these and many more performances at this year’s dance recital “Dance With Me Tonight”.
